جمعی از برندگان جایزه نوبل و محققین دانشگاهی با ارسال یک نامه خطاب به دبیرکل سازمان ملل و کمیسیر عالی حقوق بشر این سازمان، که توسط کمیته ی دفاع از آزادی دانشجویان علی یونسی و امیرحسین مرادی به فارسی منتشر شده، نوشته اند به دیگر محققین دانشگاهی می‌پیوندند که خواستار آزادی فوری دانشجویان علی یونسی و امیرحسین مرادی شده اند. این دو دانشجو از فروردین ۱۳۹۹ (آپریل ۲۰۲۰) در بازداشت خودسرانه به سر می‌برند. این دو جوان به هنگام بازداشت ۲۰ ساله و دانشجوی دانشگاه صنعتی شریف در تهران بودند

ما، برندگان جایزه نوبل و محققین دانشگاهی امضا کننده این نامه، به دیگر محققین دانشگاهی می‌پیوندیم که خواستار آزادی فوری دانشجویان علی یونسی و امیرحسین مرادی شدند که از فروردین ۱۳۹۹ (آپریل ۲۰۲۰) در بازداشت خودسرانه به سر می‌برند. این دو جوان به هنگام بازداشت ۲۰ ساله و دانشجوی دانشگاه صنعتی شریف در تهران بودند.

از زمان بازداشت هر دو دانشجو از شکنجه‌های روحی و جسمی و بدرفتاری‌های دیگر همچون اعتراف اجباری آسیب دیده‌اند.

۱۷۴ تن از اساتید و روسای چندین دانشکده دانشگاه شریف در نامه‌ای خطاب به مقامات ایران در اردیبهشت ۱۴۰۰ (می ۲۰۲۱) خواستار آزادی این دو دانشجو شدند. علاوه بر آن، بسیاری از دانشجویان دانشگاه شریف در مناسبت‌های مختلف نگرانی خود را از وضعیت بازداشت همکلاسی‌هایشان ابراز کرده‌اند.

سازمان عفو بین‌الملل در تاریخ‌های ۱۰ می ۲۰۲۰ و ۲۲ نوامبر ۲۰۲۱ دو بیانیه «اقدام فوری» خطاب به مسئولین ایرانی منتشر کرده است.

در ضمیمه خلاصه‌ای است از سابقه درخشان تحصیلی این دو دانشجو که علیرغم سن کم، چندین مدال‌ در مسابقات علمی کشوری و جهانی از جمله مسابقات جهانی المپیاد فیزک و نجوم به دست آوردند.

ما از شما تقاضا می‌کنیم از هرگونه تلاش ممکن و عملی در سازمان ملل برای آزادی زندانیان سیاسی، به خصوص این دو دانشجو، استفاده کنید.

ما از تمام تلاش‌های ارزشمند شما در دفاع از ارزش‌های حقوق بشر قدردانی می‌کنیم.

We, the Nobel Laureates and distinguished academics signing this statement, would like to join those other scholars calling for the immediate release of the students Ali Younesi and AmirHossein Moradi who have been arbitrarily imprisoned since April 10, 2020. The two men, both aged 20 at the time of their arrest, were the students of the prestigious Sharif University of technology (SUT) in Tehran.

Since their arrests, both students have suffered physical and mental torture and other ill-treatment including forced confessions.

One hundred and seventy-four professors and directors of various departments at SUT wrote a letter in May 2021the Iranian authorities demanding the release of the two students. More importantly, the majority of the students of SUT have, on various occasions, expressed their serious concerns on the conditions of the detentions of their two fellow students.

Amnesty International released two calls for ‘Urgent Action’ on November 22, 2021; May 10, 2020 and addressed to the Iranian authorities (please find below the link to these calls).

Please find enclosed a brief note on the outstanding educational background of these two students who, despite their youth, have won several medals at national and international competitions, including the Astronomy and Astrophysics Olympiad.

We urge you to use your good offices in making every effort to ensure that political prisoners in Iran, particularly the two students Ali Younesi and AmirHossein Moradi, are released immediately.

We would sincerely appreciate your valuable efforts in defending the core values of human rights values.
